Toy Factory COMPLETE
It all started as a bunch of wire and goo. Now, it is the most amazing thing I've ever had the pleasure of creating.
Here's my 1/4 done pic of my toy. It's bones are coat hanger and wire, his organs TIN FOIL! On occasion I had to use a vice grip to hold certain parts firm as I sculpted the main parts.
Completed phase 1 raw before baking. I needed to do my bot in stages as to end up doing it properly without going too far away from my original concept sketches.
Look at his jet pack BLAST OFF!
Phase 1 bake. It took about 20 mins to harden properly. After it was done I let it cool for about 5 mins then continued on with phase 2: Detail Work.
Phase 2 Pre-bake, I added in the antenna detail, the jawline, shoulder pads, joints, and his big legs and feet.
It's coming along nicely, so far there has been few problems. The mohawk burnt a bit on the tip but not very much. I was still able to keep it together. Bake time: 15mins
I managed to use my left over can of Warhammer citadel primer. There was barely any left in the can but it was just enough to cover just about all the main parts to paint.
Me going nuts trying to cover the black undercoat with my dark red acrylic. I had to do 6 coats to get it to cover properly. 3 coats dark red, 3 coats my own blood from slitting my wrists. What a pain in the ass. The end result was well worth it.
Robot dude chilling HALF WAY THERE!
AND DONE
After 40 hours of conceptualizing, testing frames, sculpey tests, drilling the base, wrapping wire on the frame, connecting it all together, finishing the skeleton frame, applying the sculpey, refining it, adding detail, painting, inking, touching up and finalizing everything. IT'S FINALLY DONE! WOOOHOOOO! Now... The good stuff.
BE AFRAID *Robot sounds*
The head that comes off. The ink really brings out the detail. GREAT SUCCESS!
The front of my mohawk sporting badass robot dude. What a crazy mofo!
Back details, the jetpack has a little grill on the bottom to show that it is indeed a jetpack. It's either that or his lunchbox or a 24 case of Molson.

Wire, clamps and sore fingers OH MY!
Here it is folks. The first step to the finished product. I managed to complete my skeleton for my toy robot. OH HAPPY DAY.. errr.... morning lmao
I tried as hard as possible to follow my original concept sketch. It turned out alright. I got my hands on my dad's tool box and borrowed some wire cutters and snips for cutting pieces of wire coat hangers generously provided by Andrew. Special thanks haha. The 20 guage roll of wire I picked up worked fine. Really easy to work with. The Hanger was the hardest part, so freakn hard to bend, I had to use a Vicegrip and plyers to bend the bastards. Can't wait to start with the sculpey. More on that Tomorrow.
Now onto my Colour concepts. I fooled around with my original sketch in Illustrator and traced it out so it was easier to play around with the colours. I'm going to go with the dark red scheme. It reminds me of carnage which my robot WILL CAUSE! Muahaha!
I LIKE! GREAT SUCCESS!

The SCULPEY is ROLLING
So yesterday I picked up a bunch of books from the caff. The concept books are absolutely amazing and they have a lot of good stuff in them.
On to present events.. Today I went on a little adventure to get some resources for my Toy project. I managed to get a few things at "A Buck Or Two". Some acrylic paint, brushes and a couple rolls of 20 guage wire to wrap around my armature. Then I went over to Currys to grab some more sculpey but they didn't have any more. At least I got my tool set. My grand total of time and money spent was 3 hours and 30 dollars. Plus some McDonald's and an MP3 Player filled with E.S. Posthumus, Lost Prophets, Hoobastank, NIN, Anberlin, Sevendust, Within Temptation, Tool and Kamelot ROCK ON
I also payed a visit to West 49 where I finally found a black pair of shoes. Fallen's logo is so freakn' COOL! They also had a whicked sale so I got a sweet ass sweater and a couple T's. There goes my paycheck HAHAHA
I'm all ready to go and so is my new Toy design. I thought this one would be more interesting. I have a lot of hopes for this one and I can't wait to finish it. More on my box later.. My concepts right now for it are crap.

NINJA PUB WORKSHOP
So I went ahead and did some concept work for a mag ad I had to create. Then it came to me to do an ad for the up and coming "Ninja Pub". I thought why not? So I did some ninja drawings of different logo ideas. After finishing with the mag, I talked to Andrew about the flyers and if I could contribute my logo to it. The following pictures showcase the results.
Enjoy
Concepts for shurken and head/mask
After discussing my ideas with Andrew we both came to an agreement of which design I should use. This was the result of the final Illustrator line art.
Took me just under a day to come up with concepts and finish the final product for Joe's class.
Andrew's design with my logo can be found HERE
Time for a break.
What can I say? I found the idea hilarious so I made my own rendition of it hahaha.

Toys and My sculpey
I finally got a hold of some white board to stage some shooting areas for projects. So I took a few shots of my Cyber Violator. I only got one that turned out good enough to post.
I love the way the flash reflected off of the paint to give off a real metallic look. This thing is probably worth a fortune on Ebay and is quite the kick ass character.
I also went to work with some more sculpey just messing around and seeing what I could come up with on the fly. A couple gas masks, a tiny head, a mouse head and some funky looking skull character. More soon to come when I pick up a couple more boxes and a tool kit at Curry's.
Cheers

Draw! DRAW!!WARD
Jamming to some Rammstein and drawing at the same time. What could be better?
I managed to get some of my sketches together. I've been drawing a lot of Luis Royo and Dean Yeagle lately. That labrynth book sale that comes by the Seneca caff every once in a while is truly amazing. What's also amazing is the fact that every time they come by I spend a good $150 dollars on art books LOL.
I truly am nuts, but if I'm ever to improve on figure drawing why not start with some females? Screw drawing males, Let's draw some boobs! YEAH! Anyways. . .
I started with some Yeagle. I traced one of his drawings of Mandy then I proceeded to study his style making random notes and tried to piece together some similarities and stuff that would allow me to duplicate his work or impliment it into my own drawings.
I was inspired by this chick I know to draw this. It's also influenced heavily by a "Dead By 17" character.
This wouldn't be complete without something from Royo.
These were the books that I was very fortunate to have picked up. They are all filled to the brim with great art work. The action cartooning book has some awesome tips and tricks to drawing. I also picked up a couple other books but didn't manage to take pics of them. "How To Draw Manga: Female Characters" Worth the read whicked awesome stuff. And I also got another Luis Royo book: "Submersive Beauty".
Here's an inked Carnage I did a little while back. Why couldn't he be in the new movie?!
Some random doodles while I was on the phone hahaha
A concept of an abstract plant with the attributes of aconitum. Poisonous and deadly. Don't ask what the eye in the middle is about because I don't even fucking know.

Aconitum Logo
Let me begin with the explanation of "Aconitum".
If you havent guessed it is the latin term for "strong poison" I thought this was a cool concept to work with because I was getting tired of the skull and crossbones for the universal poison warning sign. Thus I redesigned it with my own touch while adding in an organic tribal influence for the crossbones.
It was the result of trying to find a fucking domain name which wasnt taken already. "Pathogen" is still in the works but it's taken already so I'm going to have to add a number to it or just have PathogenFUCK.com or something along those lines. Anyways you can see the logo design in my background.
